The first years of business here at Perfect Space has seen a very steep learning curve having to take the necessary steps to formalise the business as a limited company and all the things associated with giving birth to a new venture. I have grappled with decisions on what to focus on, what to produce and where the business will go and it is a challenge to make sure there is perpetual positive progression wherever I put resources on any given day.
The vision is still clear in my mind as to what Perfect Space will become, but I haven't yet written a "Mission Statement" or written down the strategic aims but I appreciate the value in such things and they are in the pipeline.
Having just upgraded the vehicle to a modern Transit L3 H2 Van Perfect Space now has the 'wheels' to be able to transport products and components of Offipods™ to the customer, where before would have been impossible to do without relying on several suppliers which increases costs and reduces profit. The Van will also now allow me to begin the journey to start reducing the time onsite which is a major factor in current profitability.
Timber framing and all the carpentry work associated with this activity will still continue to feature largely in the designs, but I can now introduce Structural Insulated Panels to Offipod and Garden Building designs. These prefabricated panels combine materials in to sections which produce very high quality insulated floors, walls and roofs, and can reduce the build production time of these sections by up to half.
The long game will be to acquire a unit locally that will allow me to collate all the requisite components of an Offipod™ and have an Installations Team complete the building onsite quickly with minimum impact to the customers site.
The first build of an Offipod using SIPs is just about to be built in Lambeth in London. I will add photos of the project as it is built through the social media channels and there will be a feature on it on the website once it is completed and signed off by the client.
